Spring garden Workshop

Have you dreamt of growing your own cut flower garden? Do you know nothing about growing flowers or are you an experienced grower? This class is for all levels.

Sandra Carr’s cut flower class will review all the basic steps to follow to grow your own cut flower garden at home. This will provide you with an endless bouquet all summer long. She will review the best flowers to grow during summer for our area. We will also dig things like, how to choose the best location, soil health, seed selections, seed starting indoors vs direct sowing, color palettes, transplanting, and harvesting tips.

Let her help you be successful and avoid the mistakes she made and learned from. Happy Growing!!

Hi! I’m Sandra Carr, a local flower farmer-florist.

I started this journey of growing in my backyard 5 years ago and after we moved to our farm 3 years ago I could see all the possibilities of what could be. This is when I found a love for the beauty of growing cut flowers and lots of them. I am an avid learner and searched out how to grow flowers, organizations to join, courses to take, podcast to listen to, YouTube channels to follow, books to read and flower farmers to network with. I proved to myself that I could grow them. I realized these flowers not only brought me joy but also to so many. I wanted enough to share with my community, not just on my kitchen bar and that is when Raymond Blooms was born. I have participated in the Flower Growers of Mississippi program and the online Floret Farm Workshop. I am an ambassador for the nonprofit, Growing with Kindness and will be their southeast area captain this year. I pursued flower design through Mississippi State University and now have completed the Master Floral Designer program. I think anyone can and should grow flowers. You might not be able to have a farm but I’m sure you have patches and spots around your home with endless possibilities!
